CLUTHA TROTTING CLUB.
APPLICATION FOR PERMIT. A meeting or members of the Clutha Trotting Chib, presided over by the Mayor of Balclutha (Mr S. V. White), on Saturday night decided to make application for a permit for a one-day trotting meeting at Balclutha. A committee was appointed to see about a suitable ground, also to interview the Hon. Mr Bollard (Minister ot Internal Affairs), who is expected to visit the district shortly. The Hon. D. T. Fleming, M.L.C., was the principal speaker at the meeting, and he promised his hearty support to the proposal.
