THE TREWORLAS MURDER
COMPENSATION SOUGHT FOR WIDOW.

(Received Dec. 8, at 5.5 p.m.) The secretary of the National Seamen’s Union at Swansea is trying to obtain £6OO as compensation for the widow and two children (who reside at Swansea) of John Jacob, the coloured seaman who was the victim of a stabbing ali'ray on board the steamer Treworlas. —A. and N.Z. While the Treworlas was proceeding from Ocean Island to Newcastle Jacob, a West African, was stabbed to death on the forecastle deck by an Indian member of the crew named Medi Doran, who was subsequently found guilty of murder.
