GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs Dalgety and' Co. (Ltd.) report as follows: Oats.—Business in this market is at a standstill, and buyers are not showing any interest in the few samples offering. Wheat. —Stocks of fowl wheat are very low, and there is a good inquiry for good whole quality at up to 8s per bushel, sacks extra. Potatoes. —The season for old potatoes has practically finished, and vendors have to accept reduced prices for their consignments. Chaff.—The market is over-supplied, and owing to the poor demand, consignments arriving have to bo taken into store. Prime quality is worth up to £8 per ton, sacks extra. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report: 'Oats. —There is little to report. Forward sales have been mode with new season’s oats at prices much below those now ruling. Farmers holding email lines would be wise to forward and sell before the threshing of the new crop commences. Wheat. —There is always a demand for good whole fowl wheat, and values are continually advancing. Wo quote 8s per bushel, sacks extra, for first-class quality.

Potatoes. —New ones arc arriving very freely on tho market, and inquiries for old ones are very isolated. A line or two from the north have been offered, but there are no buyers. Chaff.—The supply is more than equal to the demand. There is plenty of green feed available, and tho ever-increasing motor traffic makes chaff selling a hard proposition at this time of the year. There is plenty in store, and tho odd trucks that are arriving are not meeting with much demand. We. quote, £B, ex truck, for prime quality only. Other grades are unsaleable.
