GALLIPOLI MEMORIALS

APPROACHING CEREMONY,

AUSTRALIAN CEMETERIES.

LONDON, September 8. . Colonel Hughes, who is in charge of the Australian War Graves Commission, and who has just returned from Gallipoli, states that the date of the unveiling of the memorial in the Australian cemeteries on Gallipoli has not been fixed yet, but that it will probably take place on Anzac Day, 1925. The Turkish authorities, he stated, do not favour large parties visiting the graves, and intending Australian visitors should cable four days before arrival. Colonel Hughes and Captain Vickery have been appointed British representatives on the Cemetery Boundary Commission throughout the Turkish Republic under the Lausanne Treaty.
