DAMAGES AGAINST DOCTOR.
VERDICT TO STAND. (Pee Unittsd Press Association.) HAMILTON, September 30. In the Supreme Court counsel applied for a new trial in the case in which Mrs Marjory Lawrence was awarded £2OOO damages at Auckland a few weeks ago on tho ground of negligence by defendant aa a medical practitioner in treatment for cancer. The grounds of the application were that the verdict was against the weight of the evidence, that the damages wore excessive, and that the judge misdirected the jury. The application was refused by Mir Justice Stringer.
