An interesting story of a young woman and her washing is being told at Stratford. A few days ago the young woman, who was visiting the town, finding that her wardrobe needed replenishing, called upon a Chinese laundryman with the parcel. Subsequently she returned lor the articles, hearing another bulky but exceedingly wellbound and knotted bundle, which she deposited on tho counter, saying she would pay for ‘‘the lot” when the second parcel was attended to. She then gathered up the original washing and departed hastily. Like all traders tho Chinese was pleased to soe business increasing, hut, being a thrifty soul, hesitated to cut tho numerous cords wound round and round tho woman’s second bundle. The proverbial Celestial impassiveneas was, however, rudely shattered when, after a breathless bout wdth the knots, the wrapping was rolled back, disclosing nothing but a largo armful’ of grass.
