CRICKET.
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS’ CLUB. The Christian Brothers’ Club held its annual meeting on Thursday night when there was a largo attendance of members. Second, Third, and Fourth Grade teams were formed. In submitting the annual report and balance sheet the commi tee congratulated the club on its very successful season. Although its first year, the team had put up a great performance by winning the Fourth Grade competition having played 13 matches, won 11, arid lost two. The club’s thanks were due to Mr J. A. Brown who presented two handsome gold medals for the best batting and bowling averages, which were won by J. O’Connor and B. Lynskey respectively. The committee congratulated these players on their .performances. The club was also indebted to Mr J. Bond for his ycrv valuable cervices as coach. It was hoped that members would practise assiduously again this year. Thanks wore also due to the various vice-presi-dents and many well-wishers for their donations. Congratulations were extended to the Boys’ League Senior and Junior teams, which succeeded in winning their compcittions. Mr A. Sullivan was elected delegate to the Cricket Association. . It was decided to practise four days in the week. The date far commencing practice will be fixed later. PRIDE OF THE LEITH FORESTERS’ CLUB. The first meeting of the Pride of the Leith Foresters’ Cricket Club, which was held in the district secretary’s office on Monday evening, was well attended, Bro. H. C. Williamson presiding. After a discussion it was resolved to enter a team in the Otago Cricket League competition. The following office-bearers were elected: Patron, Bro.
