RABBITSKIN MARKET REPORT. Tho Dunedin Woolbrokers’ Association (Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Todd Bros., Rational Mortgage and Agency Company, New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Otago Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Donald Reid and Co., Stronach, Morris, and Co., and Wright, Stephenson, and Co.) report as follows: Large catalogues were again offered at yesterday’s sale to the usual attendance of buyers. Bidding was good, but erratic and, due to n lack of inquiry from America for bucks, these depreciated up to 6cl per lb on late rates. Tire absence of American orders is probably only temporary, and the market is generally firm. The fact that bucks are still bringing up to about 05d is a fairly good indication of the stability of the market. Winter does sold pretty well up to late rates, and all other grades may he taken as firm at recent quotations. The following a,re the prices realised;—Light racks, 32d to 33d; summers, 31d to 331 d; prime racks, 3»id to 37Jd; early autumns, 435 cl to £46§d ; late autumns, Sid to 58JJ; incoming winters, 6-Ud to 71 hi winter black, 70}d to 78Jd; winter fawn, 75 J ,d to 76d; early winter bucks, 78d to 80Jd; early winter does, 69jjd to 7‘2id; second winter ’ bucks, GUJd to 69c1; first winter bucks, 86d to 92.p1; prime winter bucks, 93d to 94Jd; second winter does, 56fd to 67id; first winter does. 71 Jtl to 77d; prime winter does, 80ijd to 86|d; spotted winters, 51d to 63d; outgoing does, 51d to 59fd; summer broken, 27Jd to 3Cd; first winter broken, 38fd to 4G-Jd; springs, 38Jd to 40?,d; milky, Sojd to 37Jd; hareskins, 35id to 47Jd; horsehair, 203 d to 21id. CANTERBURY MARKETS. (Peb United Press Association 1 CHRISTCHURCH, August 26. The potato market has slumped a farther stage. The Wingatui on Saturday night took a record shipment, totalling from the three ports of Oarnaru, Tiinaru, and Lyttelton between 15,099 and 17,600 sacks. The Lyttelton proportion was close on 9000 sacks. A good number of these potatoes arc on consignment, and are the subject of low quotations. From Auckland the shipment will land on a bare market, hut apparently it will he ample to meet the needs until the arrival of the Kawatiri from Melbourne about September 7. Farmers rushed in supplies whilst the going was good to-day. On trucks values are about £5 per ton. The week’s operations lifted a good few potatoes from the country and it is believed that the quantities held are, in very few cases, large enough to cause the holders worry. Merchants say that the present time is the quietest period in the trade for a long time, potatoes being about the only product they are dealing with. Oats are not so firm and are quoted at 3s lOd, f.0.b.,5.i. Chaff is firm at £6 13s to £7 to fanners. The inquiry for seeds is small. LONDON MARKETS. Press Association—By Telegraph--Copyright.
