CHINESE TEAM’S VISIT. OTAGO PLAYERS. The selectors—Messrs E. Brown, L. H. Scott, and U. M'Callum—have picked the following team to represent Otago against tho Chinese on September 3. Goal. J. J. Caskie (High School Old Boys). Full Backs.—Right, G. Anderson (Seacliff); left, V. Dickel (Mornington). Half Backs. —Right, Halchin (Southern); centre, J. Drydeu (Northern); loft, W. .Murray (Seacliff). Forwards. —Plight wing. M’Dougall (Seacliflj; inside Iright, Simmons (Seacliff ) ; centre, Hooper (Seacliff) ; inside left, I. C. Fraser (High School Uld Boys); left, wing, W. Douglas (High School Old Boys). Reserves.—Coates (Northern), Lowden (Mornington), R. Cherry (Northern), M’Lean (Taiori), Ontto (Mornington). .Murray will captain the side. If Fraser is not available in the forwards his place will be taken by R. Cherry (Northern). PRIMARY SCHOOLS. TRIA NG ULAR TO UR NEY. Tho team to represent Otago in the interprovincial triangular s,-hoots’ Soccer tournament between Wellington, Canterbury, and Olago, which takes place iu Dunedin during the first week of September. will be selected from the following:--Davis (Musselburgh). Galland (Normal), Young (Moray Place), Cope (Mornington), Mitchell (Musselburgh). Addison (Anderson’s Bay), Flynn, Alderson, and (Montgomery (Port Convent), Croft, Hewitt, and Grimgey (Anderson’s Bay), Groves and Hatfield (Musselburgh), and Rutherford (Mornington). At Culling Park to-day. at 3 p.m., an 11 selected from tho above-named players will represent Otago schools against a High School Fifth Grade team. About. 53 players from the Wellington and Canierbury provinces will require billeting privately for a few days, and friends of the Soccer code who can conveniently billet, any of tho visiting schoolboys are requested lo notify Mr Grace, secretary of the Otago Football Association, or any O.F.A. official they may find it more convenient to advise.
REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION. A mooting of the Association Football Enforces’ Club was held last night. A largo number of members wore present. It. was resolved that a team travel to Oamavu on September 13. Considerable discussion arose over (ho question of Mr Fogarty’s ccnsureship by the 0.F.A., and it was unanimously decided that a deputation consisting of Messrs Pollock, Smith, and Ghent wait on the O.F.A. al its next meeting to endeavour to remove the censureship. The following appointments wore made m connection will) the Chinese matches:--Linesmen for the test match, Messrs Moorwootl and .Tames- linesmen . for (he OtagoCiiina match. Messrs Preston and Sutton. The Social Committee reported that all arrangements for the social to-night were well in hand, and that everything promised to be a pronoun'ced success. SATURDAY’S MATCHES. The following is the draw for the Association football matches on Saturday:— First Grade.--Kaitangala v. SeaclifT. at Culling Park. 1.45 p.m.- (Mr Smith); Morning! on v. Old Boys, at Colling Park (Mr Rutherford) ; Northern v. Taiori, at Mosgiel (Mr Morwood); Maori Hill v. Southern, at the Clear (Mr M’Callum). Second Grade (Knock-out Final).—Old Boys v. Northern, at Oval No. 2, 2.45 p.m. (Mr Mann).
