According to information received, it wa? stated that it was the intention of tbe postal authorities to run a motor-cycle and sidcchair daily, leaving the Post Office at 8 a.m., and delivering; letter?, etc., to settlors in (he Dunback. Oroen Valley, and Macraes districts. At present the motor-car service delivers mails a.nd parcels and carried passengers daily on the Dunback road to Macraes on tlivefe days in the week, and to Green Valley three days a week. It does not leave Palmerston till the morning moils from Dunedin arc sorted. In the proposed scheme the motor-cycle and chair will leave before the mails and papers arrive from Dunedin. —It w as decided to write to tho district Parliamentary members pointing out the drawbacks of the proposed scheme. It was also decided to support the districts concerned in protests they were circulating, and it was suggested that a public meeting be called as soon as possible, with repr©peuUtircn present from each district.
