PROTECTIVE PATROLS, NIGHT ESCORTS PROVIDED r Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright., MELBOURNE, August 25. ■' To combat the spread of lawlessness in Melbourne and the suburbs, a protective patrol, comprising ex-officers of the Australian Imperial Force, lias been, formed, and has been promised co-operation by the Commissioners of Police. Householders will have the protection of the patrol on the payment of 3s weekly. 'The' patrolmen will be armed and will escort citizens to their homes at night and bring women from theatres and other places. The Attorney-General (Mr W.
