At a meeting ot the Council ot tne Ayrshire Breeders’ Association a scheme was put forward by ftlr Somerville, a member of the executive, to place the breed on a sounder tooting. The objects of the proposal are to raise the standard ot.Ayrsmre cattle in the dominion and to eliminate culls, to place the hall mark on animals worthy of the name of pedigree, to encourage testing by officials or through recognised herd testing by the association. During the discussion it was pointed out that tne time was not opportune to adopt the scheme, and the proposal was lost on a show of hands.
