INTER-FACULTY DINNER.
A most successful social function was hold in tho Strand Salon on Saturday evening, wheon the staff and students of the Mining and Science Faculties of the Otago University foregathered to celebrate their annual dinner. The attendance far surpassed that of previous years, and the spacious salon was comfortably filled. The Dean of the Mining Faculty (Professor James Park) presided, and throughout tho evening a spirit of conviviality and goodfellowship prevailed. The toast list was as follows: “The King”; “Alma Mater,” proposed by Professor Inglis and responded to by Mr It. E. Hall; “Our Association,” proposed by Mr W. H. A. Penselor and responded to by Mr K. W. R. Glasgow; “Other Faculties,” proposed by Mr E. F. Northcroft and responded to by representatives of the various faculties; “The Staff,” proposed by Mr P. W. Aitken, and responded to bv Professor G. E. Thompson; “Graduates,” proposed by Professor W. N. Benson, and replied to bv Mr R. S. Allan; Departing Students,” proposed bv Professor D. B. Waters and replied to by Mr S. W. S. Strong; “The Ladies,” proposed by Mr J, H. W. M'Georgo and responded to by Mr H. M. Nimmo. Tho following contributed musical items: Flute solo, Mr Levi; song, Mr K. W. R. Glasgow; violin solo, Mr W. H. A. Penseler; song, Mr E. E. Butler.
