The Covent Garden employers have declined Mr Bevin’a proposal for a joint meeting under an independent chairman. The threat to stop the cross-Channel supplies was not executed pending this reply. The floral workers struck to-day in sympathy. The executive of the National Union ot Railwayman has decided to co-operate, if necessary, with the Transport Workers Union in stopping the cross-Channel supply of fruit and vegetables for the Covent Garden market.—Router.
