THE VALLEY OF KINGS
TREASURES OF ANCIENT EGYPT. AMERICAN RESEARCH EXPEDITION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 21. (Received August 22. at "5.5 p.m.) The Daily Express Paris correspondent says that the wonders of Tutankhamen may be eclipsed when experts next year uncover three tombs which are thousands of years older and the whereabouts of which’ they gleaned from inscriptions on Tutankhamen’s tomb. It is stated that the new tombs are five miles further up the Valley of the Kings, and contain the remains of the rulers of a rich province in the days when gold and ivory were used for ornamentation.
Mr Kelsey, a Chicago banter, who brought the news to Paris, hopes to organise a Chicago University research expedition to tho tombs.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
