OLDER THAN TUTANKHAMEN

TOMBS OF EGYPTIAN KINGS. INTERESTING FIND REPORTED. Precs Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, August 20. (Received August 21, at 9.50 p.m.) An American -banker who has returned from Cairo declares that three tombs have been discovered in the Valley of the Kings 1000 years older than that of Tutankhamen. The Carnarvon party discovered the first clue to their existence from inscriptions found during the 1923 excavations. They are believed to contain untold wealth because they belong to a period when gold and ivory were used for the furnishings of the royal palaces instead of polished wood. They are situated within five miles of Tutankhamen’s tomb.—Sydney Sun Cable.
