When the match was resumed between South Africa and the United Services, the weather was ideal, and th©j wicket fast. The United Services in their first innings made 418 (G. Bryan 229, Blount 61). Bianckenberg took four wickets for 92. and Pegler three for 109. Bryan brilliantly hit up the, highest score against the South Africans. He gave chances at 94 and 147. The innings lasted 350 minutes, and he hit 29 fours. South Africa in their second innings made 148 for four wickets when stumps were drawn. The first three batsmen were clean bowiod by Jamieson’s highdelivered slow medium puzzlers. Hearne made 34, Susskind 29, Taylor not out 00. Catterall not out 23.—A. and N.Z. Gable. South Africa in their first innings made 182.
