ORIENTAL CARNIVAL.
AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS. His Majesty’s Theatre continues to attract largo throngs of visitors to the St. John Ambulance Association’s Oriental Carnival, and the business done so- far has been very satisfactory. The carnival is now open in the afternoons, but in spite of this there was no noticeable diminishing of the number of evening visitors. The stalls were well patronised, and the banner for the most successful one was won by Mrs R. Hudson and Mrs G. Nelson, who are in charge of the soft drinks and ices stall. The two entertainments. “Japonetle” and “ Divertissements ” were well staged, and it appears that with each nightly performance the players have gained more confidence, and their work now would do credit to any professional performance. The cabaret in the Victoria Hail is another attractive feature, and the dancing accommodation is always severely taxed.
