Tlio fortnightly meeting of the St. Kilda Borough Council waa held last night, and was attended by the Mavor (Mr_C. Toddf end* Cm A. Kilnatrick, J. Beattie, A. IX Bdgar, H. H. Leary. 11, W. Hall, If. Telfer. E. Longworth, J. Adam, J. W. Love, and Jj..Fleming. . , . , . , The foreman was instructed to report on the condition of Auld street, tho attention of tho council having been drawn to the street by .Mr G, xl. Strong. A communication from the secretary. Municipal Association, relating to the rating of tramways properties, was held over in the meantime, the Mayor and the clerk to go into the matter. Ififfeen residents of Corunna street wrote complaining of the stale of the road frontin" their properties, and requested that immediate slons be taken to have a crown formed on the road, and, if possible, to nave it, tar-ser.led. —The matter was referred to the foreman to report. It was agreed to spend up to ,£2 for providing poiflon for birds if applied for by ratepayers. The foreman’s and the plumber’s reports were ■ adopted, and it was agreed that all crossings on the present schedule be laid dovyn in tarred metal.
