N.Z. AND SOUTH SEAS EXHIBITION COMPANY.

MEETING OE DIRECTORS. A mooting of directors of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition Company was held at. 4.45 p.m. yesterday, and was attended by Messrs J. Sutherland Ross (chairman), C. Speight. O. Todd, A. Baxlioli, ’l’. Somerville, and R. L. Halsted. Accounts amounting to £1156 3s 6d wero passed for payment. It was decided to adopt the recommendation of the Commissioners at Homo with reference to the appointment of a manager, and to cable to tho High Commissioner authorising him to make a definite engagement. Tho man who has been recommended has had a lot of experience in connection with bix exhibitions in Groat Britain, Mr Haisted reported on behalf of tho Fino Arts Committee, that a cablegram had boon received asking for particulars regarding tho spaoo available for exhibits ot art from the United Kingdom. Mr Haisted said ho thought that was a very good sign, na it showed that interest was being taken in the matter of getting a collection of works of art. Mr Baruol t reported (hat at a meeting of tho Publicity Committee a motion had boon passed expressing (he opinion that the publication of a high-class booklet was essential and that to do justice to the case a five-folder should be produced at a cost of approximately £IO,CCD, the issue to consist of 25,C00 copies.—After a brief discussion it was decided to defer consideration of tho matter till Thursday.
