HARRIERS.

The Civil Service Harriers held their weekly run from the Port Chalmers Rowing Club’s shed. Paper was dispensed with. The pack, led by the captain. E. L. Brown, followed the road that loads to Waitati as far as Mount Misery. The members then ran across country to the south end of the Mihiwaka tunnel. From here the run home was commenced and several of the younger members ran well. The Anglican" Ladies’ Harrier Club held its run from the George Street School. The pack, consisting of 12 enthusiasts, set off at 2.45 D.m. under the charge of Captain Stokes, and went along George street, through the Woodhaugh Gardens, and on through Woodhaugh until the reservoir was reached. The pack then circled the reservoir and came homo via Licth Valley past the paper milts, down into Duke street. At this juncture the pack had a fast run home to the school, resulting in a finish in the following order:—F. Stokes, I). Saxon, S. Harbot, and P. Stokes. The Anglican Harrier and A.A. Club held its run from the residence of tho chib’s president (Mr P. W. Breen). Messrs Forbes and Mouat had charge of the paper, and were responsible for a good trail. The pack,* numbering 30, set off at 3.15 p.rn. under the charge of Rolfo and followed the trail through Woodhaugh Gardens and up the Bullock track and through Maori Hill. The trail then went round tho golf links, and on until the reservoir was reached, then on in the direction of Halfway Bush. At this juncture the trail turned for the return journey and led across country and along Cannington road into Warrender street down into George street. Hero the pack set off for a fast run homo, and reached Pine Hill tenfaco in the following order; —Ashby, Kolfe, M’Kernan, and Mathews. After the run tho club spent an enjoyable evening with its host and hostess. The Cargill Road Methodist Harriers held an enjoyable run from the home of Mr and Mrs M'G-regor, of Anderson’s Bay. The paper, which was entrusted to Cunningham and Ashby, was laid in good style. The pack followed the trail to Ocean Beach, thence to Tomahawk and on to the Second Beach. The trail then lead inland over the hills to tho Tomahawk road, and on to the Anderson’s Bay Cemetery, from which a fast run home took place. The St. Patrick’s Harriers held their weekly rim from the Bungalow Tea Rooms, St. Kilda. Paper was dispensed with, the hares being Cull and Menhenic, and they laid a trail which at times proved very difficult owing to hill_work. The trail led along Victoria road ~to St. Clair, thence up the hill past Cargill’s Castle to the Caves, and then across country to Burnside, returning by way of Look Out, Point and Cavorsham on to .Forbury road, where the run home was commenced. It resulted in Cameron being first, closely followed by White. tho other memlxirs of tho fast pack being close up. Tho members were afterwards entertained at tea by Mr R. M. Duff. Tho St. Kilda Harrier and Amateur Athletic Club held its weekly run from the Dund.is Street Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon. The pack, numbering 18, under the captain (A. Macdonald) and the acting deputy captain (C. M‘Crone) followed the trail set by C. Tidy and D. Skene. Tho runners approached the Botanic Gardens, up by Signal Hill, thenee across manuka-covered country above Poliohet Bay, then following tho track above Ravcnshourne. A descent wins made to the Port Chahnors-Dunedin road. On tho run from Ravonsboume the men showed up very well, and the first runners home were C. M‘Crone and T. W. Dove, who tied for “first man in." They were followed by K. Ball, K. Mercer, A. C. K. Wills, and A. Macdonald. After tho race tho St. Kilda runners were tho guests of the Dundas Street Methodist Young Ladies’ Senior and Junior Bable Classes.
