VICAR OBTAINS DIVORCE
AN UNFAITHFUL WIFE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 18. (Received June 19, at 5.5 p.m.) On the grounds of his wife’s miscon duct with a man named Mitchell, tin Rev. James Sykes, rector of Mugginsto; Church, in Derbyshire, was granted divorce. Petitioner gave evidence that he va; married in 1907, and had four children. About 1915 he noticed familiarity betwee his wife and co-respondent. Petition' enlisted for active service, and befori leaving for Branee he placed his wife an ' co-respondent on their honour to condm i themselves properly. When petitioner n turned in January, 1918, lus wife declined to live with him. He heard that sin had given birth to a child. For the sain of his children he had been anxious !. avoid divorce proceedings, but his wifi wo birth to a second child in 1921 whereupon he consulted the Bishop Southwell, who agreed that there was i. alternative to divorce.—A. and Cable.
