A score of . deaths, mostly of women and children, followed a collision between tho mail steamers Haabson and Harald in the Vest Fiord. Tho former sank immediately.—Reuter. HEART-RENDING SCENES. PASSENGERS MOSTLY ASLEEP. COPENHAGEN. Juno 18. (Received June 18, at 8.15 p.m.) The collision was accompanied by heart-remling scenes. Doth steamers were full, and tho passengers were mostly asleep. The Harald’s passengers rushed on deck, but were quietened when they found that the vessel’s bows had only been dented. The Haakon was doomed. The first boat that was lowered capsized, throwing the passengers into tho water. Others jumped overboard, but most were lowered successfully. The captain leapt from the bridge and was saved just before the steamer sank. It all happened in a matter of a few minutes. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
