A new poem, “A Snng of trench Hoads by Mr Rudyard Kipling, receives prominence in the May number of the Strand Magazine, in which Sir Arthur Conon Doyle coidinues his interesting “’memories” of notable people, while short stories are provided by Mrs Belloc Lowndes, Mr Stacy Autnonier. Mr P. CL Wodehoune, Mr F. Britten Austin, Mr Kclward Woodward, a.ml others. , . 'the Merry-Go-Round, a monthly magazine for children, is fortunate in being able, to command tho services of writers who ]>osßf“s the rapacity for interesting juvenile readers with prose and verse, while the illustrations are distinctly artistic and quaint. „ , “Tho Truth About India—at Last is a special feature of tho contents of the Empire, Review for Mav. it is interesting just, now to read, on the authority of Ka.ikhnsliru Jamshendji Dastur, that it is an absurdity of the first order to establish democracy in India, at- present. Loni Askwith contributes an article on Strikes and Lock-outs, and tin- quality of the magazine is further illustrated m (ho tact UnitSir Oliver Lodge, Mr A.
