BLONDE INDIANS

LIGHT ON ANCIENT THEORY. EXPLORING THE DARIEN JUNGLES. Press Association—By Telograph—Copyrigh*. NEW YORK, June 14.. A message from Cohen (Panama) states that the centuries-old theory of the existence of so-called blonde Indians may shortly be established as the result of a report that an American expedition which has been exploring the Darien jungles during the past live months has succeeded’in its quest, and is returning to Colon,' en route to New York., The_ personnel of the expedition numbered six, of whom two perished from tropical fever. A message from the leader, Mr Richard Marsh, states; ‘T shall be ready to sail. for New York in three weeks’ time, accompanied by the King of the Darien Indians and two white Indians—a boy aged 19 and a girl of 21. They are goldenhaired, blue-eyed and white-skinned. Their bodies are covered with long downy white hair. They are not of the standmL Albino type, but appear to be Nordic whites. We discovered evidence of an ancient civilisation, and secured a fine ethnological collection of moving pictures.” Mr Marsh used an aeroplane to reconnoitre for the purpose of charting accurate topographical routes, which will be subsequently pursued.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
