Phams, the Egyptian physician, who is said to possess a wonderful art, whereby those who are suffering from certain ailments and afflictions can bo told how to cure themselves successfully, is due to appear in Dunedin at the Plaza Theatre for a short season commencing on Saturday evening next. The successful demonstrations by Phams in Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, and as recently us last week at Christchurch, during the past four months have created widespread interest It may bo considered rather a bold enterpise to convert a stage into a consulting room, but Pharos selected the theatre as the best place to deliver hia message to the people, and to demonstrate the secrets of the ancient Egyptians. In no way does ho practise stage tricks. His demonstrations are described as simple. The core of his science or systerii of healing is in essence exactly opposite to the basic principle of juijitsu. In that Oriental art it is a demonstrable fact that pressure or a sharp knock on a nerve centre will paralyse and even kill a man. Similarly, pressure of the right kind on a paralysed, jaded, or jangled nerve will bring it to normal, he claims, and place the sufferer on the high road to joyous health. It is in this way and no other that Phams claims ability to cure at least, 50 per cent, of sufferers from all sorts of irksome and dangerous aches. lie has a delightful manner in exorcising his charm. The box plans will bo opened at the Bristol on Wednesday morning next. In conjunction with Phams the usual huge Plaza picture programme will he pro senled, making a big double bill. Notwithstanding the magnitude of the combined attractions popular prices will prevail. Sufferers from neuritis, sciatica, lumbago, rheumatism, and all kindred ailments who desire free treatment are requested to call at the Plaza immediately and mane arrangements with the manager. On Tuesday. June 24. a special matinee for ladies only will bo given.
