ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
KILLED BY TRAIN. (Pee United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 13. Walter Lister, single, a surfaceman employed on the Halt railway line, was killed this morning. He, with others, was working on tho line, but evidently he did not hear tho tram approaching, and was struck by th« cow-t-atx'hur, and killed instantly. A fracture of the right leg was sustained by Samuel Worslcy, aged 43 years, through being caught between several boxes while working in the Kaitanguta Goal Go.’a mine on Thursday afternoon. The injured man was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital, where ho is making good_ progress. Ho resides in Bndfort street, Kautangata. Latest reports from the Hospital are to the effect that Andrew iVPKny, the jockey who was seriously injured at the Wingatni winter, meeting, is showing signs of improvement.
