CONFECTIONERY SHOP E AIDED. THE PROPRIETRESS ARRESTED. (Per United Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH. June 12. Yesterday detectives visited a confectionery shop in Cuba street and arrested the proprietress, Mabel Maud Thorbnrn, who was later charged with using her premises as a common gaming-house. Accused wasremanded till next Monday. During the discussion regarding bail the police stated that there might be other charges of a more serious nature which laid accused open to fines aggregating several hundred po’mds.
