CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES

(PeS United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 12. An ond-of-the-scason wool sale was held, to-day, the catalogue comprising 1024 bales. It was comprised principally of stragglers’ .■wool, overgrown atid with a heavy proportion of seed. The balance was mostly Ci'utehings, pieces, and fleece, the wool being very lightly represented. Considering the condition of the catalogue a strict comparison with previous sales is impossible, but making allowance for this aspect the sale was fully equal to the January ami Maich latos, with an improvement in some, cases. Cm telling's, iu particular, met with an unlimited sale. There was a good bench of buyers, overseas operators, as well as a. strong circle of fellmongers. There were no sales that established fresh standards so far as greasy wool was concerned, but a Now Zealand record was set for scoured merino, a halo of prize-winning wool sold by the A. and P. Society making the lofty price of, SOijd.
