BLAZE AT INVERCARGILL
ANOTHER SERIOUS OUTBREAK TANNERY STORE DESTROYED. ALBION THEATRE DAMAGED It has been the unenviable fate of Invercargill to experience two serious conflagrations this week, the second occasion being at 0.40 o’clock this morning in the promises of Messrs Kingsland Bros, and Anderson (Ltd.), tanners and fellmongcrs, 6 'Bay street. Owing lo the highly inflammable nature of the stock there was a terrific blaze, and the building was quickly doomed, its destruction being soon complete The blaze spread to the back of the Albion Theatre, where a considerable amount of damage was clone. A number of adjoining shops aiso suffered damage. The outbreak, which was of comparatively short duration, was got under control 'by the brigade within an hour, and at 1 o’clock, although the fire Ans still burning, there was no further danger of it spreading. No insurances were available this morning.
