PEACE OF EUROPE

HISTORIC LEAGUE ASSEMBLY. QUESTION OF GERMANY’S ADMISSION. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyng it. LONDON, June 11. (Received June 12, at 5.5 p.m.) The Daily Telegraph’s political observer affirms that the efforts of British diplomacy will presently be concentrated on convincing the German Government of the necessity of applying for membership of the League of Nations. This is desired in view of Air MacDonald’s plans to make the August and September meeting of the League an historic occasion, on which decisive steps will be taken towards the pacification of Europe, which cannot be achieved if Germany refuses to enter the League. . Assurances have been received that Signor Mussolini will support Mr MacDonald at Geneva and attend personally. —A. and N.Z., Cable.
