THE PLUNKET SOCIETY.
TAIERI BRANCH. The qnartoly meeting of the Taieri branch of tho ITunket Society, held on Tuesday, was well attended by interested ladies. Airs Arundel (prc-sidcnt) was in the chair. When the customary business had been 1 ransacked and a satisfactory list of subscriptions banded in. an adjournment was made to Alosgiel High School, where Dr Irwin (assisted by Dr Todd) gave an interesting lecture bearing on many phrases of the society’s work. Tho lecture was illustrated by lantern slides. Dr Irwin was thanked for the interesting and instructive hour given to tho branch. When it became known that Aurao Ellis, who had *rcgularly visited tho Toicri district, was leaving for Hastings, the members of tho branch and the mothers whom she had visited, decided to make her* a present as a token of gratitude for her kindness and help. Tho completion of this was loft in the hands of the president.
