SALVATION ARMY.

An appeal to 'the Alosgiel public by the Salvation Army never falls on deaf cars, and consequently the moot recent appeal was well responded to. The South. Dunedin Silver Band and Songsters visited Mosgiel, and supplied a very excellent, programme on AVednead*ay night. The proceeds of the concert. were in aid of the local Salvation Army funds, portion of which is to be devoted to the corps band. The Alayor presided, and welcomed the visitors from Dunod,in. Captain Rotherham assisted in the welcome. The programme consisted of selections by the band, instrumental selections, vocal solos and duets, and recitations. Those assisting the bind were Ensign and Airs Whitcicy, Airs Stevens, Mrs Christie, Sister, T. AVilliams, Sister Bowie, Sister Coulter, Airs Bowie, and Sister Stevens. ALany of the performers were recalled, showing how much the audience appreciated tho programme submitted. The entertainment closed with a verso of tho National Anthem. Captain Rotherham thanked Bandmaster Bowie, his band, and the ladies and gentlemen who had so kindly given the entertainment.
