LADIES’ HOCKEY.
The meeting of the Otago Ladies' Hockey Association was. held .on Monday evening, when there wera pieeent: Mrs Hudson (in the chair), Mrs Nelson, Misses White, Campbell, Lawson, Foley, Dewar, and Hill. A letter was received from Mr J Gray accenting the position of dole selector for the season. A letter was received from Columbia College implying for transfers for B. Campbell and Mi Harvey from the Girls’ High Schno 1 to Coluba, tbeso players now being pupils at Columba College.—Granted. The Tuapeka Sub-association wrote applying for a refund of fares for. players who took part in the trial matches in September last, of whom (Miss M'Pherson was chosen to play in the Otago teara.--The secretary was instructed to reply that the fare of the one player only could be refunded, as the understanding was that the fares of ihe players chosen to represent Otago would be paid. This action had been taken in regard to other sub-associations. The Secretary reported that Mrs Coutta .Anderson’s Bay, had won the box of chocolates raffled at the tournament. Mrs Nelson reported the result of the conference with the etoll-holders for the Ambulance C:» rnival.—The Hockey Association had been allotted the ice cream "and soft-drink stall. A travelling rug had been given to be raffled by the hockey stall.—lt was decided to print tickets for the raffle. The question of holding a concert, to raise funds to stock the stall, so that all takings would lie pure profit was discussed. Mrs Hudson agreed to arrange a programme, the details of which would bo arranged at a later meeting. Tho A grade first round being finished, a fresh draw was made, and it was decided that this season no team would bo granted leave to play friendly matches, it being pointed out that already there were six matches standing over to be played.—The secretary was instructed to write to the Girls' High School, University, and the Training College Clubs, advising that their outstanding matches must be played, and the results reported to the executive not later than Monday, June 30. It was decided that unless matters of urgency should come up for attention, meetings would be hold fortnightly, on Mondays.
