Alai tors in connection with the big scheme on tho Kawarau River may be said to havo reached a business point. An agreement between (he company and (lie claunhohJors has been oomploled, and the terms of this are evidently quite acceptable to all concerned. A great deal cf local interest is nemg taken in the venture, and several local companies have been formed to work various areas, local capital being readily forthcoming. One company which has two claims was quickly floated, and another controlling one section was floated in 24 hours witit purely local capital. This can be accepted as firm confidence On tho part of local residents as to the prospects once several water sources are harnessed and controlled.
