THE LUDENDORFF TRIAL
EXCITEMENT IN MUNICH. AUTHORITIES TAKE PRECAUTIONS. Pirn Association —By Telegraph—CopyriffOl . LONDON, March 31. The Munich corespondent of The Times says: “Tho Bavarian Government is taking special precautions, in view of possible disturbances when tho verdict is announced in the Hitler case to-morrow. A proclamation has been issued warning tho population that rioting, looting, unlawful assembly, and resistance to tho State forces are punishable by death or penal servitude. Tho proclamation also forbids tho display of posters in tho streetg, cafes, or shop windows with the result of the trial. A State Commissioner has been appointed, with special powers to maintain order. Tho reports that Hitler’s supporters throughout Bavaria are concentrating upon Munich are officially contradicted, but from previous experience the public has little faith in official denials. Everywhere there is a feeling that things may happen. —Tho Times.
