YACHT AND MOTOR BOAT CLUB.

A mooting' of the Yacht and Motor Boat Club was held on Monday night, Mr W. R. Waters presiding. Orphanage Picnic.—The secretary submitted replies received from the various orphanages. Ho reported that 310 children would be taking part in this outing. A sub-committee was appointed to interview the launch owners with a view to obtaining the use of as many motor boats as possible. The subcommittee appointed to interview the residents of Broad Bay reported that the residents would again be pleased to entertain the children at Broad Bay. It was resolved that the outing be held on January 5, and that the boats be asked to be at the wharf about 1.15 p.m. to embark the children. Evening Entertainment. —The secretary reported that he and Mr Goodwin had interviewed Mr Kum Poy. and he had pi omised to arrange for a fireworks display _ in the event of the club arranging an evening entertainment. The secretary reported that ho had also seen Mr Macassey, who said that he thought the club would receive support from the athletic clubs if some running events were included on the programme. It was also suggested that a procession through the town to the Caledonian Ground be arranged. The see.alary reported that he had interviewed the ( aledonian Society and the use of the grounds could be secured for this entertainment. It was suggested that the function should be held during February or the beginning of March. It was resolved to hold a meeting on January 15 to make definite arrangements in connection with the matter. General.—lt was resolved to fix the date for the cruising race to Broad Bay at the next meeting. The commodore referred to the leath of Mrs Moller. and it was resolved to coni ey to Mr H. E. Moller the members’ deepest sympathy.
