BETTING TICKETS
SYDNEY FORGERY CASE. ONE OF ACCUSED DISCHARGED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, December 11. (Received Dec. 11, at 10.10 p.m.) Morris Jacobs, one of the accused in tha betting ticket forgery case, has been discharged, the magistrate holding that there was no case against him, as he had apparently’ used the forged tickets in good laith. Jacobs, in company with two other men named von Geyer and Gardiner, was charged with having forged and uttered betting tickets at the Kensington races. The allegation was made in court that the forgeries were extensive, and that the Treasury’ had been defrauded of large sums of money. The police alleged that thousands of the tickets had been circulated in the city and country. The forgery was practically perfect-.
