WATCHMAN MURDERED
DAHLBERG DECLARED INSANE. TRIAL POSTPONED. Pros. Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, December 11. (Received Dec. ii, at 10.10 p.m.) The trial of Dahlberg has been indefinitely postponed. The accused was declared to bo insane. On the night November 3, during the Melbourne police riots, Hanks, a watchman on the steamer Woolgax, invited a young Dane named Dahloerg to come on beard. After chatting for an hour a dispute occurred. Dahlberg knocked Hanks down and secured a stranglehold on his throat. The crew overpowered the Dane and dragged him off, but Hanks was dead. Dahlberg said that the trouble was caused through Hanks threatening him with a. revolver.
