HAWTHORNE SCHOOL.

ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION. The programme presented in the All Saints’ Schoolroom last night by the pupils of the Hawthorne Private School and Kindergarten, .on the occasion of the annual distribution of prizes, was an admirable one. The items were of a varied nature, including a Shakespearean play and a number of other difficult pieces that showed the capability of the pupils and the value of the instruction received. The spectacles presented by the participants in tiie numerous items were bright and happy, und the performance successful in tJiat it convoyed of its' brightness and happiness to the listeners. Ballard; physical exercises, junior pupils (Class B); French play, "Shopping,” upper school; physical exercises, junior pupils (Class A); recitation, “Baby Bears” (Edith Howes), Gould Cook; class singing, upper school; duet,’ “The Three Spinners,” E. Hanlon and J. Wilson ; maypole, junior school; senior drill and ball exercises, upper school; duet. "Valse Caprice” (Rathbun), N. James and F. Hammond; recitation, ‘Fairies on the Lawn” (Fyleman), Eileen Hanlon.
