THE DUEL INCIDENT. EVIDENCE OF THE PETITIONER. Prcsa Association—By Telegraph—Copyrigat SYDNEY, November 9. (Received Nov. 9, at 9 p.m.) During the Negozio divorce proceedings the petitioner, when questioned regarding the duel incident, said that when a duel was mentioned he opened the door and wont out. He was not a fencer. The second duelling incident mentioned was when he and his wife were voyaging from Australia. A mutter arose in which a ship’s officer considered that a reflection had been cast on his honour. This officer and another waited upon the petitioner, and challenged him to a duel. However, he felt disgusted and did not fight. Vital! held the rank of commander in the Italian fleet during the war. Un to the time of the estrangement the families were the closest friends.
