DAIRY CONTROL BOARD.
SELECTION OF CANDIDATES. COUNCIL AND PRODUCERS. (Peb United Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, November 2. “ There is absolutely no truth in tho statements published to tho effect that the National Dairy Council has gone over tho heads of the producers in selecting candidates for tho Dairy Control Board,” remarked Mr Grounds, chairman of the National Dairy Council, to a Standard reporter. “There is much misapprehension about the whole question. What we (the Dairy Council) asked the districts to do was to select nominees, but as many did not do this, the council decided to .hold a ballot. All tho names of the possible candidates were put up. It has been stated that some of the selected candidates are connected with the Meat Board. This is absolutely wrong, and I can say definitely that no nominee of the Dairy Control Board is in any way connected with the Meat Board. Tho Dairy Council’s solo aim has been to give a fair and adequate representation to all districts. We are satisfied that tho men who have been selected as candidates are the best tha.t could be obtained anywhere ”
