PUBLIC SCHOOL SPORTS.

The championship sports, under the juris* di ft ion of the Otago State Primary School I Sports Association, will be held on Saturday next at the Caledonian Grounds. Last year's gathering- drew excellent entries, but this year the number of entrants is far greater and includes numerous countrv competitors. The display of drill anil games to be given by 2000 boys and gins IM-omiscs to be very .successful. This portion of the programme is under the charge! of Mr A.. P. Roydhouse, who has been in smutting the children in the various schools for some time past. The monster rehearsal held yesterday afternoon at the Caledonian Grounds proved very successful, and the association hopes that rho parents will show their appreciation of the teachers’ go<xi aork by_ attending the meeting. Owing 10 the large number of entries for the various sections, as many as 10 heats will be run. The finals will be confined to the afternoon, the forenoon being devoted to (he preliminaries. Hot. water, tea, milk, and sugar will be provided free of charge to all school children in attendance at the meeting.
