BRITISH QUOTA ALMOST FULL. MANY DISAPPOINTMENTS = PROBABLE. Pr«M Association—By Telegraph —Copyright NEW YORK, October 23. The British immigration quota for the present year is likely to be filled oy November 3. The United States officials look for an unprecedented rush, of immigrants from the British Isles as soon aa the November quota opens. The total quota from Great Britain for the year was 77,340, at the rate of 20 per cent. monthly, and to date 61,872 have been admitted. Cabled advices indicate that more than enough Britishers to complete the total are ready to start in the race to Ellis Island. Probably many will Da turned back. The officials believe that the closing of immigration for the remainder of the year would serve to turn the trend of British migration towards Canada.—A. and JS.A. Cable.
