Tlie Hickson spiritual healing mission was opened hero to-day, when over 500 sick people—many seriously ciinpled, assembled in All Saints’ Chinch. Many serious stretcher cases were accommodated in the front chancel, and a few seats were _occupied with other sufferers. Many children were present, some of the little sufferers being- infants in arms. Following Mr Hickson’s address, the laying on of hands was commenced, the Bishop of Wellington (Dr Sprott) giving the Church's blessing. No instantaneous cures were reported, but many patients, interviewed afterwards, confessed to feeling better. Several cases of partial cures are reported. A girl from Wanganui, suffering from an affliction of the limbs, who was carried into the church, was able to walk away later without assistance. A woman from Wimbledon, near Danuevirke, suffering from heart trouble, and whose logs wore afflicted, later walked across the room unaided. A sufferer from rheumatoid arthritis, who had not walked a step for 19 years, later walked unassisted. A woman Buffering from paralysis of the right arm was able to move it, and a young girl suffering from paralysis, was, stated to have been greatly benefited.

During the past few days hundreds cf tho sick, tho halt, and tho blind have boon brought to Palmerston North for the purpose of receiving curative treatment by faith at tho hands of Mr Hickson. To-day the numbers were further augmented by car loads from Wanganui, whilst to-morrow a special train from New Plymouth and intermediate stations will bring several hundred more whose cases have pM/.zlod the doctors. The address this morning of the rnissioner and healer was much on the same lines as at tho other places he has visited, and ho pointed out that there was no limitation to tho power of the Almighty. Healing did not always come at once, but God would give it as tho patients submitted themselves wholly to him. Quito a large number of sick persons passed through the mifsioiicr’s hands ami a number claim that they received great benefits although they had not been quite rid of their ailments.

In connection with tho Hickson mission an old lady, over 70 years oi age, who could only walk with difficulty by the aid of a stick, wanted to go to Palmerston North, but was unable to do so. However, by praying, she. suddenly received tho use of her limbs and she is now able to dispense with her support. A Herald reporter, telegraphing this afternoon from Palmerston North, said that he had interviewed a large number of patients, most of whom claimed to have received great benefits. One well-known member of a Wanganui public body brought his daughter to Palmerston North. She had suffered for many years from apoplexy, and she assured her father that she felt completely cured.

Mrs B. Price (Wanganui), who was wheeled into church in a chair, had not walked for 13 years. Immediately after emerging from the church she got up and walked a few steps. With a beaming smile she said, “I can now sit up slraighter than I have done for years.” Mrs Hale (of Dannevirke), who had been in hospital for a loi>£ time suffering from heart trouble and who had to bo assisted into the church, -was bright and happy and she said she felt greatly improved. One of the attendants states that there were several blind patients. Ono patient, although not able to see, says he feels a remarkable change in his eyes, and is firmly convinced his sight will be restored. A Feilding girl, Miss Martin, who suffered*! from a nervous breakdown, states she feels splendid and is sure she will gov better.

A lady entered the church with n bandaged arm. She had not had the use of it "for years, but afterwards she_ was seen vigorously shaking hands with friends with tho restored member.
