A STORMY VOYAGE
SCHOONER LOUIS THERIAULT. TWENTY-NINE DAYS ACROSS THE TASMAN. Pr Mm Association —By Telegraph—Copyrtg » SYDNEY, October 11. Captain Watchlin says that the Louis Theriault, which arrived yesterday after a passage of 29 days from Whangape, ran into strong westerly gales soon after her departure from Now Zealand. Westerlies prevailed for practically the whole voyage, except when a southerly disturbance came up, and that was too fierce to be taken advantage of. With the exception of a broken spar, the ship came through undamaged. On four occasions the vessel was compelled to heave to for many hours. Captain Watchlin said.it was the worst weather ho had experienced in many years at sea. He was surprised that the Louis Theriault had not been reported, as he had spoken to a Sydney-bound steamer and had asked to be reported, in view of the length of time the voyage was taking.
