The annual report of the Registrar of Friendly Societies comments on the fact that the management cost per head of the moan membership was 13s 6d, and the amount paid in salaries 7s 3d per head. The management expenses represented 16.1 per cent, of the total income last year, and of every £1 of contributions collected 4s 2d was consumed in the cost of collection and distribution of benefits, though both showed a decrease on the previous year. Compared with 1914, the average increase in the expenditure per head ot membership was nearly 40 per cent.
