FLOATING EXHIBITION
A FINANCIAL SET-BACK. APPEAL TO THE GOVERNMENT. Preen Association—By Ttilerraph—Copyright LONDON, June 25. (Received June 26, at 8.10 p.m.) Mr Ben Tillet (a member of the House of Commons) writes to the press pointing out that the promoters of the scheme for sending the exhibition ship British Trade (formerly the Orontes) have received a .financial setback through the failure of certain persons to carry out their obligations when the ship was practically ready to sail round the world as a floating exhibition. Mr Tillet says that lie is approaching the Government with a view to making the expedition a national matter. —A. and N.Z. Cable. In January of this year the directors of the British World Trade Expeditions purchased the Orontes for a tour of the world as a floating exhibition. The vessel was re-named British Trade.
