SMALL MOTOR-CYCLE
RECORD SPEED IN TESTS. LONDON, June 10. J. A. Porter, riding a new Gerrard motor-cycle, designed by himself, won the tourist trophy ottered in the Isle of Man for light machines of 250 c.m. He made the record time of 4hr 21min 37sec, or an average of 51.93 m.p.h. for the 226 i males of course. A gale blew broadside on during the race, but the small engine, which is about the size of a kitchen kettle, stood the test, and broke many lap records.
