HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE

HARRY LAUDER SEASON. It was a foregone conclusion that Sir Harry Lauder would again cast his fascinating spell over Dunedin audiences, and as a matter of fact even tho worst of Dunedin weather does not keep the crowds away. Last night it was a thoroughly delighted audience in His Majesty’s Theatre that hung upon his every word and studied intently his every subtle change of expression. One at least of tho great secrets of his power is the direct personal touch that he always establishes with his audience, making his hearers feel that to him they are real living persons. The simplicity and ease of his art is another of its great charms. Tho supporting company with Sir Harry Lauder also gives an excellent entertainment, bright, harmonious, and often highly amusing. Of unique beauty is the artistic posing of La Venture with spectacular coloured lighting effects; and Stan Kavunagh, the juggling humourist, is responsible for some very clover work. Only two more nights now remain of tho season.
